Lighting

Image
Lighting In our piece, I focussed on the lighting. I used multiple different techniques to make sure our piece looked as perfect as possible. I did this in multiple different ways. To start, I focussed on the lighting the narrator, oscar, had in the background.  I chose oscar to dance and sing around blue lighting as I thought it captured the moment perfectly. The choice of lighting made the piece successful and created lots of meaning within. All throughout the piece, Oscar sang with this blue lighting, although blue is usually associated with sadness, the music playing throught the background made the blue lighting successful and lifted the mood of the audience. The blue lighting also contrasts the narrative and creates a surreal feel to the piece. Oscar is also breaking the fourth wall which ensures that the audience knows that he is a performer, seperate to the storyline. At the very start of the piece, I made the desigion to have everything black and white. This shows the mood and

Directing Actors

Image
Directing Actors Another one of my roles in producing the music video was directing actors.  This means that I had a huge say in what the actors did and how the actors acted. I focussed on these specific points  Facial Expressions Body Expressions Actor Movement Basically, I am going to work on everything the actors should do to successfully create a music video. Here are a few examples of what my role included. In this clip, you can see both actors, with their arms around each other to create the effect.  This caused the viewers to see the love these two individuals have, therefore adding to the plot.  Their facial expressions make them look as if they are really into the game that they are playing, therefore, showing that they have passion for not only the game but for each other. In this clip, we can see both actors walking down a long street coming up to Buckingham Palace.  As the man is a tourist, I got him to point around, this, therefore, made it seem to the viewers that the man

Editing Supervising

Another role I had in the music video, as well as acting and costumes, was supervising and assisting with the editing of my piece.  I sat with Jed while he was editing the piece giving my input, and making sure cuts are as smooth as possible. I made adjustments and alterations to the piece, changing hue and saturation and making the piece as successful as possible.

Media Laws and Ethical Procedures

Image
Media Laws and Ethical Procedures Make sure you have the necessary permissions and licenses.  I may need to get hold to permissions and approvals for various aspects of your music video, such as music. I need to respect copyright laws.  Copyright laws protect the original work of others, including music, lyrics, and images. Respect privacy laws.  Be mindful of privacy laws when filming in public or private places.  If I am filming in a public place, ensure I do not invade anyone's privacy rights. Follow safety regulations. Make sure your music video doesn't violate any safety regulations or pose a risk to yourself or others. Be aware of age restrictions. If my music video contains content that is not suitable for all ages I will be very careful when planning to adhere to media laws and regulations as this is a key aspect in creating a successful piece and to make sure that everyone is happy, and to make sure there is no copyright and there is no issues.

Target Demographics

Image
Target Demographics EDM Rudimental Lay it all on me EDM originated from underground rave culture and has since gained mainstream popularity around the world.  The music is often associated with electronic music festivals and nightclubs, where the target audience is typically young adults who enjoy dancing and socializing. Age The primary audience for EDM music videos is typically between the ages of 18 and 34 years old. Although this is the case, EDM music has become popular with younger audiences, meaning that those aged between 13 and 17 can also be a significant demographic. Gender EDM music videos appeal to both male and female audiences. However, males tend to be the primary audience, with a ratio of approximately 60/40. 60% men and 40% female. Location EDM music videos tend to be more popular in urban areas, where there is a higher concentration of nightclubs, festivals, and concerts. However, the genre has become popular worldwide, and audiences can be found in both urban and ru

Music Videos and Conventions

Image
Comparing 3 music videos and their conventions In this music video, we can see the cast dancing in the rhythm of the music video, this shows the upbeat attitude the actors have, therefore, showing the viewers that this genre is EDM.  We can see in the music video that there is a bright, increased hue and saturation, this therefore also shows the genre and sets the scene and the mood for the audiences. My music video is EDM so music videos such as these ones are going to be key to help me and my group create a successful piece. This music video is significantly different from the other videos.  This music video shows a lady, on her own, looking directly at the camera.  The music is very different to the first video.  As we can see, the hue is decreased and so is the saturation and brightness.  This therefore shows the viewers that this is a different genre, this genre is Pop. As the tempo picks up and the music video starts to get more and more fast paced, we start to see the lady, myli
