How do your products represent social groups or issues? My product represents young people and young love. Our piece shows the story of two young people who fall in love and begin a long-distance relationship. In our piece, the audience may find comfort in the portrayal of the struggles of long-distance relationships. Our music video also includes scenes in London and can represent the people who live/the people who have longed to go and visit London for its many wonders. Our product also represents the issues that come along with a long-distance relationship. Long-distance relationships are frowned upon, this, therefore, goes against this and shows to the audience that long-distance relationships are okay, and that love is OK no matter how and where it takes place. My piece also represents the struggle with language barriers. There is a tiny percentage of people who commits to a partner who doesn’t speak the same language as them. Our piece has hopefully opened the eyes of the audienc

Lighting

Image
Lighting In our piece, I focussed on the lighting. I used multiple different techniques to make sure our piece looked as perfect as possible. I did this in multiple different ways. To start, I focussed on the lighting the narrator, oscar, had in the background.  I chose oscar to dance and sing around blue lighting as I thought it captured the moment perfectly. The choice of lighting made the piece successful and created lots of meaning within. All throughout the piece, Oscar sang with this blue lighting, although blue is usually associated with sadness, the music playing throught the background made the blue lighting successful and lifted the mood of the audience. The blue lighting also contrasts the narrative and creates a surreal feel to the piece. Oscar is also breaking the fourth wall which ensures that the audience knows that he is a performer, seperate to the storyline. At the very start of the piece, I made the desigion to have everything black and white. This shows the mood and

Directing Actors

Image
Directing Actors Another one of my roles in producing the music video was directing actors.  This means that I had a huge say in what the actors did and how the actors acted. I focussed on these specific points  Facial Expressions Body Expressions Actor Movement Basically, I am going to work on everything the actors should do to successfully create a music video. Here are a few examples of what my role included. In this clip, you can see both actors, with their arms around each other to create the effect.  This caused the viewers to see the love these two individuals have, therefore adding to the plot.  Their facial expressions make them look as if they are really into the game that they are playing, therefore, showing that they have passion for not only the game but for each other. In this clip, we can see both actors walking down a long street coming up to Buckingham Palace.  As the man is a tourist, I got him to point around, this, therefore, made it seem to the viewers that the man

Editing Supervising

Another role I had in the music video, as well as acting and costumes, was supervising and assisting with the editing of my piece.  I sat with Jed while he was editing the piece giving my input, and making sure cuts are as smooth as possible. I made adjustments and alterations to the piece, changing hue and saturation and making the piece as successful as possible.

Music Video Trends There are several current trends in music videos Cinematic storytelling Many music videos are now being created with cinematic storytelling techniques. They often have a storyline or narrative that follows the lyrics of the song. Visual effects With our advanced technology, music videos are featuring more and more advanced visual effects. From green screens to CGI, music videos are now able to create cool visual effects that were not possible before. Performance-based videos Another trend in music videos is the focus on the artist's performance. Music videos often feature the artist singing and dancing in front of the camera, showcasing their skills and personality. Collaborations Collaborations between artists are becoming much more popular in music videos. Collaberations allow a wider range of musical styles and creative ideas to be incorporated into the video.
