The biggest artist that relates to my favourite genre is currently Drake. Drake has 4,660,601 fans falling just below Rihanna who is the no1 biggest artists in the world.
How do your products represent social groups or issues? My product represents young people and young love. Our piece shows the story of two young people who fall in love and begin a long-distance relationship. In our piece, the audience may find comfort in the portrayal of the struggles of long-distance relationships. Our music video also includes scenes in London and can represent the people who live/the people who have longed to go and visit London for its many wonders. Our product also represents the issues that come along with a long-distance relationship. Long-distance relationships are frowned upon, this, therefore, goes against this and shows to the audience that long-distance relationships are okay, and that love is OK no matter how and where it takes place. What are the differences between single artists and band videos? Single Artists Single artists create music videos that are purely based on them, these music videos may have a specific story and there is a lot more freedom in what the artist can do and produce. This may be different from a band video as they have to keep into consideration all the different members of the group and there may need to be adjustments due to other members' personal preferences. Although this is the case, single artists are usually more mainstream than independent, this means a lot of the choices and decisions would not have been independent choices and would have been the record label and producers' choices. This is not the case for all single artists, although most artists who create popular music videos are signed to a mainstream record label. (google definition) Representation is vital in the music industry, the industry needs to portray different social groups, different areas and different types of people in a respectful way, balancing the correct amount of positive representation and negative representation. This would prevent social groups from being represented in incorrect ways as well as prevent a negative response from the public once a music video has been published.
